Make Connecticut Affordable
Cutting Energy Costs by 20%
Keep Property Taxes Low
Connecticut families face some of the highest property taxes in the nation, and homeowners deserve meaningful relief. Jason Perillo supports a Homestead Act that would reduce the taxable assessment of owner-occupied homes by $50,000, providing broad-based tax relief while benefiting middle- and working-class homeowners the most. He also supports targeted tax caps and abatements for seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, while addressing the root causes of rising local taxes by reducing unfunded state mandates and ensuring the state fully meets its commitments for education and special education funding.

The decisions that shape our communities are best made by the people who live in them. Jason Perillo believes local elected officials, planning and zoning boards, and school leaders understand the unique needs of their towns better than state bureaucracies. He opposes state efforts that override local decision-making on housing, zoning, and land use policies. He also supports parental rights in education, believing families should have meaningful choices in how their children are educated while maintaining appropriate safeguards to protect student well-being.

Connecticut's high cost of living continues to put pressure on families, seniors, and small businesses. Jason Perillo is focused on lowering everyday costs by addressing rising utility rates and pursuing an affordable, reliable energy strategy. He supports removing public benefits charges from electric bills, expanding energy options that include nuclear, hydropower, natural gas, and renewables, and increasing transparency and accountability in utility regulation. He has also opposed the sale of Aquarion, citing concerns about future rate increases and the impact on local communities and taxpayers.
